Business Development Manager – Steel

Your role:

You will drive business development for Hot Rolled & Cold Rolled Flat Steel by leveraging technical expertise, managing relationships across mills and traders, tracking market trends, and ensuring smooth end-to-end trading operations.

Your responsibilities:

  • Utilize strong technical understanding of steel grades, coil conditions, and pricing trends.
  • Build and maintain relationships with mills, traders, service centers, and end-users.
  • Track market trends, regional pricing, demand patterns, and competitor activities.
  • Conduct field visits, yard inspections, and supplier/buyer meetings.
  • Coordinate with logistics, warehousing, and documentation teams for smooth shipments.
  • Apply practical knowledge of freight, commercial terms, import/export basics, and taxation.

  • Strong communication and professional representation skills.
  • Right attitude toward AI-enabled processes.
  • Ability to manage technical and commercial aspects of steel trading.
  • Proactive and capable of operating independently in a fast-paced trading environment.

Required experience & qualifications:

  • 5–7 years of experience in steel trading (Hot Rolled & Cold Rolled Flat Steel).
  • Experience in second-choice material preferred.
  • Graduate degree (minimum).
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Expected salary range INR 20 lakhs PA
